Fairhaven Fishery, Farington is a lovely small fishing lake in a mature landscaped, but very natural setting, This fishery is perfect for a days fishing or short early evening session. Various tactics work here, but we have had most success close in down the side, fishing luncheon meat, literally a foot from the bank resulting in carp from 4 – 12lb (they run bigger), plus tench as well.

There is a payment hut next to the fishing lake with an honesty box, to serve yourself a ticket and displaying all the fishery rules.

Fishing features abound with margin reeds, overhanging trees and islands all within a short cast, or swing of the rod. A great place for beginners to learn or the more experienced fisherman, Fairhaven Fishery is a short distance from Leyland, Bamber Bridge, Lostock Hall & Preston as well as the M6/ M61 and M65 all within a few minutes drive should you be travelling any distance.

The fishery has 20 excellent pegs all comfortable and nicely spaced providing everyone with their own features to fish to.

Never rule anything out recently watched a fisherman catch a nice carp on a fly rod, with a fly/ bug, other anglers leaving as i arrived to have a look around had all caught Carp in the final hour as the light was going, best 11lb Ghost Carp. Nice little water this.

To access the fishery keep an eye out for the sign, Fairhaven Fishing lake is located behind a large detached, modern red brick house so please drive carefully as you enter, the car park is located to the rear of the house and the lake is only a few yard from where you park so should suit most people being easily accessible.
